Mohammad urges greater support for youth pursuing higher studies

Dubai: Vice-chancellors, presidents, deans, faculty and administrative staff of national universities and colleges in the strength of the UAE, its future and national wealth by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday.
The Vice-President reviewed a number of educational issues and stressed the importance of education. He pointed out that Shaikh Zayed laid the foundation for higher education foundation by establishing the Emirates University in Al Ain in the initial stages of the UAE’s establishment as a federation.
The university, Shaikh Mohammad added, is rated among the 500 best universities worldwide. "We must concentrate on quality technical education and learning to build a human being who is capable of creative and scientific thinking as well as reasoning," he said.
He urged the youth to work hard to maintain the prestige of the UAE.

"Universities, colleges, and higher educational institutes are factories that hone talent, so develop your universities and higher education institutes, do not be stingy in giving all." Shaikh Mohammad expressed his happiness with the international standard achieved by the UAE’s national universities, and asked his guests to contribute more in the way of education, knowledge and development, while always looking towards what works best in the UAE interest.
Shaikh Mohammad also urged his guests to provide greater support to the youth of the nation who are studying for higher degrees, and to guide them in the best possible manner.
Guidance
He asked educational officials to help the youth in their line of specialisation, and guide them in methods of studying and use of advanced technology which will help guarantee their future and that of their fellow country men.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, was present at the meeting.
Also present were Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group; Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, Minister of Education.
Other shaikhs and ministers were also present.
Shaikh Mohammad hosted a lunch banquet in honour of his guests.
